Durga Pooja, Oct 2018

Sairam.

Sharad Navarathri is an especially auspicous event in the Shivanadam calendar.  Since 2006,  Babaji( Sri Shivananda) has single-handedly crafted Maa Durga statues, for every Durga Pooja.  He painstakingly carves, colors and decorates the statues himself with an attention to detail that is difficult to imagine.

This year, Babaji started the idol preparation activities from 05 September.

The Navarathri Poojas began from Sahshti (Day 6) and was celebrated in a traditional Bengali way with all the traditional rituals including havan,  aarti,  dhaak and the Dhunuchi dance performed by Babaji. The festival concluded with Visarjan (immersion of all the idols) on the final day in the local river Bhaner (Bener).

Venue: Shivanandam Nivas, Kangra

Shivananda Guru Dikshaa at Schweibenalp
16 Aug 2018 was the day when the Brienz Haidkhan Babaji Spiritual center, Schweibenalp, Switzerland was also blessed simultaneously with Sri Shivananda's (Babaji’s) presence.

Guru Deeskha was bestowed to over 250 people at Chikmagalur by Babaji, while 9200 kms away at Schweibenhalb, the Babaji graced his unique Deeksha in the form of Shivanandam Vibuti healing.

This is first time ever that Sri Shivananda (Babaji’s ) photo was kept in public and 60 people had assembled to receive Babaji’s blessing. The program commenced with 21 times chant of the Mahamrtyum Jaya mantram, followed by individual Vibuti blessing. It is noteworthy to mention that none of the assembled people had previously heard about Babaji, yet everyone sat and prayed to Babaji. Each one of the assembled people at Schweibenalp expressed joy and happiness after receiving the Shivanandam healing Vibuti. Tears of joy, love filled the atmosphere inside the Babaji Ashram hall.

This is yet another testimony of Sri Shivananda’s love and unique Shivanandam healing offered through his devotees who have received the Guru Deeksha earlier.

चलते रहो - a poem by Sri Shivananda

Translation of the above poem:
Don't fall in all these things
There lies a lot of happiness in this world,
If not now, tomorrow you will achieve
If not till today, tomorrow also you won't get it,
Who says so?
Dig a bit more, you are very near
Little more efforts, retire not
Destination is not far, keep walking
Having come so far, walk a bit more
Having wasted so much life, once just give little a chance
And then see how it won't not happen!

Shivananda।।।।।।

Guru Dikhsha day- 15 June 2018

Shivanandam Nivas, Kangra:
Om Premrupaya Vidmahe Shakthi Avathara Dhimahi Tannah Shivananda Prachodayaat

The second Guru Diksha as planned was held with modesty with divinity visible in one and all. Guru Wisdom(Diksha) started at 13:45 hrs with Sri Shivananda (Babaji) initiating a soulful bhajan session followed by a Question and Answer session from the assembled aspirants. Questions were raised on how the divine energy being one and same differs in manifestations uniquely and, on how can we better recognize the divine force within us.

Babaji explained in simple terms that the human body comprises of the 3 qualities (gunas) ie. Satwa, Rajas and Tamas and this was told when we had no science. There existed no science when Krishna postulated this during Mahabaratha. Science has proven this today as Atoms, that are made of extremely tiny particles called protons, neutrons, and electrons.  Protons have a positive charge and Electrons, a negative charge. What and how are these atoms related to the three qualities can be understood with the trinity - Brahma as the Neutron, the creator, Vishnu as the Proton, the preserver and Shiva as the Electron, the destroyer. Babaji further said Tamo guna will pull you down, Rajo guna will give you the impetus i.e. the force. Even anger is an inclusive force created by God in humans.

All bad things are your own production. Today’s friend might turn into a foe tomorrow and vice versa. Change the situation of your life by your own efforts, if you put everything to God then what is the use of yourself? For example, if you are in the hot sun, when you move to the shadow you feel better. And you feel good by changing situation because you have dealt with it! Hence once you are able to change the situation, your mind acquires stability and peace. It is up to you to change and adapt to the situation instead of complaining.

The proof of existence of God was the central topic of this Diksha. Sri Ramkrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda always had discussions on this topic. "What is the proof of God?" asked Vivekananda. Ramakrishna answered "do you want to really see God? Before asking think (a bit more) about what you are asking. Understanding God is very arduous task. The path towards God is extremely difficult and one has to face lot of hardships to realize Him. The only way is to to nullify yourself first, then you can know God. How you can understand divinity if you are involved in all the luxuries of life? How can you claim to see the light with eyes closed? Don't ask such things with God. Don't fool yourself by closing your eyes and yet wanting to see the light".

The proof of the Supreme God is something that you cannot understand. To even attempt to understand divinity, you have to understand yourself, make yourself zero. The true understanding of oneself is the pathway to understand divinity. Feel that you yourself are divine. To understand God live with Him. If you have embraced anger, know that the the doors of hell have already opened for you. Those who embraced the path of love will acquire the path to heaven.

Don’t argue about God. Those who argued have lost everything and provided the atheist a higher hand. What you  have in your hands are your prayers. Keep praying till God is compelled to fulfill your wish. Don’t think only if others pray for you, it will fructify. Start believing in yourself. God will bestow that which is right for your life.

Towards the end of the Diksha, Babaji individually blessed each of the assembled devotees, while answering their personal questions.

The next Guru Dikshaa is planned for 16 Aug 2018. The venue and timings will be announced on this website and the Facebook page.

Guru Dikhsha day- 14 April 2018

Shivanandam Nivas, Kangra:
Om Premrupaya Vidmahe Shakthi Avathara Dhimahi Tannah Shivananda Prachodayaat

Following Swami's Shivarathri message, eager devotees gathered at the Sai Mandir, Shivanandam Nivas, Kangra for a blissful evening with our beloved Sri Shivananda Swami (lovingly addressed as Babaji). The event started with bhajans, after which devotees asked questions on various spiritual topics to Babaji. Babaji spoke about the importance of meditation, and about 'Prema Sai'. He said "Prem Sai is actually an understanding. When one develop's love, one will understand where Premasai is!"

He instructed devotees and initiated them into meditation. According to Babaji, meditation is silent sitting at one place at an appointed time, every day morning or late evening for at least 45 min. Let your thoughts wander as they wish, just look at any object or if you like any form of God, concentrate on that form or the object with open eyes for 45 minutes. Your eyes will automatically close one day and the thoughts will be centered and your experience with Oneness and love will begin. This is the understanding of Prema or love that you will develop through meditation. "

Babaji, then granted personal interview to each and every devotee assembled, and materialised a locket of Shivananda, Hiranyagarbalingam and rings.  Babaji  gifted the Shivananda locket to a long time devotee, the Hiranyagarba lingam and rings to other assembled devotees.

Guru Diksha or knowledge of the Guru was initiated by Babaji to select devotees assembled.

The next Guru Diksha days are scheduled on 15 June and 16 August at Kangra. Aspiring souls may plan and visit Kangra on these select days.

Maha Shivaratri Celebrations 13 Feb 2018

Sri Shivananda Vishwaguru Sri Shivananda Sai Shivananda Shivananda Kangra BabajiShivaratri is the most unique time to rise above the mundane and bask in the supreme glory of the infinite, innocent and blissful Shiva tattva. The festival commemorates God’s descent on earth to end the unlimited ratri(night) of ignorance and suffering and to usher in the golden dawn of peace, harmony, and happiness.

Celebrating the Shiva tattva in oneself is real Shivaratri. Like every year, the night was celebrated with continuous bhajans and devotion at our Kangra Sai Mandir, Shivanandam Nivas.  In the morning, the Sai Mandir was blissfully decorated and many offerings in the  form of milk, ghee, sandal paste abhisekam were performed to the various Shiv Lingams that have materialised  in this mandir, over the years.
