Babaji: Om Namah Shambhave to everyone. Lots of love and blessings to all of you.

In today’s session you may ask your questions. But we have to keep in mind about the kind of question that we ask from our Guru; that is very important. And another important thing is that what you ask from your Guru and what your Guru (your Babaji) answers you about it, the effect that happens in your life, that happens only when you follow Guru’s words, Guru’s instructions. It may happen that what you ask about and what you hear back from me, you may have already heard or known about it. But it is similar to the act of reminding us again. For example, sometimes it happens that we forget about a number of things and someone reminds us about those things by moving words here and there however the essence of it remains the same. This is like reminding us again. Hence there is no end to the order of questions and answers. One question can have two answers. And from one answer two to three more questions can arise. What is an answer? It is very important to understand it. Answer is the peace of your soul, it is an inner satisfaction. It happens that after listening to an answer a peace and a satisfaction come from within. You become satisfied from that answer. That inner peace and that answer is what your soul wants to hear. In right terms you only get satisfied when you hear from a person what you desire to hear. Hence if you want to know an answer to a question, if you want to know about something, then you should listen to the instruction that your Guru wants to give to you. When you ask a question from anyone, then you should empty your mind; don’t use your mind. Because when you use your mind that proves that you already know. What is a question? It is something that you want to know about.

Let’s start.

Chetan: Babaji Namaste. Babaji I have one question and one request from you. Question is this that I try to do meditation at night 2 or 3 AM when everyone goes to sleep. And I keep on seeing religious podcasts. So in those podcasts I have heard that if you meditate deeplythen God sends some ghost in order to test you. So even if I meditate for half an hour that thought begins to enter my mind. Due to that I open my eyes. How to save myself from that? And second is my request Babaji. I live close to Ujjain so I have immense faith in Mahakal, so if you say something good about Mahakal that will give me immense happiness.

Babaji: First thing about meditation that you said: the meaning of meditation is, “to focus on one thing”. When we put our entire focus on one point, at one energy point, then we shift away from other perspectives and remain focused on only one point. This means that you are looking at one thing, from a long period of time you are focused on only one thing, and from a long period of time you are very deeply focusing on only one point. So this is the meaning of meditation that you focus on any one thing. You said that you heard in a podcast that God takes test, sometimes negative energies are shown due to which a fear arises within us. This is similar to if I ask you to meditate but to not focus on monkey. Now what will happen is this that your entire focus will shift away from all the other things to only monkey. So in reality whoever teaches you this kind of method they say not to bring negative thoughts, don’t think about monkey. These things are in such a way that you are asked not to think about certain things. Meditation and the state of meditation are so flickering that meditation completely focuses on that one thing on which it does not have to focus. And all of these sayings are said to fool you that God will do this, God will take test. Meditation gives you experience. In meditation you get different experiences but what is meditation this needs to be understood. It is an act of looking within. We need to take all of our energy within. We need to find our conscience within our heart and upon our breaths. So whatever good and bad you experience that will come from within. You may have different experiences at different levels in which you may feel fear as well. But if you think that through meditation God will send ghost or you have some outer experience that someone is standing, yes when a person does Sadhanaupon a form, does chanting then some experience can happen as test, but in meditation there are no such experiences. Whatever you experience that takes place within you. Whatever fear you feel that you feel from within but no one comes outside. When you meditate, God helps you. And when you receive some initiation from Guru, then Guru’s power (Shakti), Guru’s company, and Guru’s guidance help you. Hence when you start meditation then in your life you need someone who can guide your properly. In today’s times you may find several videos on YouTube but in right terms to meditate you need to rightly move ahead.

(Here Babaji loses network connection and once He reconnects he funnily mentions to devotee Chetan that since you mentioned about ghost, a ghost came).

So I would only like to tell you that it is good to meditate so late at night. The nightly meditation also consists of several Kriya yoga. But if you want to meditate, it is better for you to meditate in the morning before sunrise but with correct guidance. I’ll have to stop here since others are waiting but you may personally write to me, I’ll guide you. Don’t believe in such ghost things. Keep faith on your Guru that your Guru is with you. Bring good thoughts in your mind because it is very important to connect with optimism.

And the second thing about Mahakal. In the name Mahakal entire meaning is hidden that He is Maha Kal himself. To talk about Him is similar to showing lamp to sun. I would only like to say that you are fortunate that you live in His land where He exists as a form, as Shiva Ling and so many miracles are associated with this land so it is fortunate that He has kept you close to His feet, to do service, and whenever you wish you can go for his darshan. Mahakalis in an indirect form, in a direct form, in every form, He is everywhere. Mahakal means the god who is creator, who gives moksha to everyone. I bow to his feet. The more you say for Him, the less it is. I would only say that you are very fortunate.

Om Namah Shambhave. Next question

Roopak: We have this feeling that when we go to Kangra we will ask several questions but when we go to Babaji, when we meet Him, then no thought comes to our mind so what is this?

Babaji: See. This is your faith and love. When we deeply connect with our Guru, when we begin to love our Guru, then this also becomes a form of our Guru. When we connect through heart and love with our Guru then maybe nothing remains to be asked. Because we want to ask a lot but when a deep faith gets connected to a Guru, to a form, then every word gets silenced, every word gets quiet. Because whatever your soul wants to ask, what your soul is thirsty for, is hungry for, that hunger is not for any word, nor any answer, nor any question. That is a state of your mind that simply wants to meet peace. When we fight then we need a number of words to fight and as much as we speak in a fight it is less. We keep on talking and listening, talking and listening. But love is that power where you don’t need word. There we begin to understand one another. So when we enter that stage of Guru-student relationship a similar kind of thing happens there as well. This is such a relationship of devotion, love, and faith that mind wants to ask a lot. Why do we ask question? Because our mind lacks peace. For that peace, for guidance we ask question but love is form of that peace. So whenever we go to our Guru and when our mind goes calm then no word is needed to experience or explain that love. It is beyond every word. And this is true. This happens.

Mary Larson: Babaji can you please talk something about self-realization.

Babaji: In Hindi it is called ‘Aatma-Sakshatkar’. And Satshaktar means to see something, to come across something. The questions - who I am, what I am, how I am, why I am - to get answers to all of these questions from within is the meaning of self-realization. This does not come from someone else. Someone else may say to you that you were a Yogi in your previous birth, that you are this or you are that. These are not answers. It is that kind of answer to which you cannot reach. This is that state where every word gets quiet. In right terms it can be said that whatever knowledge is within you that becomes ignorance. What kind of ignorance? A human being forms an ego once she/he wants to understand about something. They say that I know about this, I know about that. To go beyond all these things i.e. you know about everything, but within you that feeling to know something disappears as well is self-realization. Your knowledge that I am such a big person, I know this, I have so much, I can do this, to go beyond that every form of “I”, to see within, to receive what is within, to win what is within, is self-realization. And how to win this? When a person keeps ego regarding anything then she/he does not know that she/he is living in ego. When you need to look at your face, you need a mirror. Till then we do not know how we look like. Because we do not have that much power to even look at us without a mirror. Self-realization is also something like this in which you get that kind of power. You are walking through life but you don’t know if you are walking the right or wrong path. You often stay in a state of confusion about what is right and wrong which is called as monkey mind. Your mind keeps changing. To stay in one thought, in one logic, in one direction, to remove focus from others about how they are, to keep focus on only one’s steps, to think about ‘what if I have gone wrong way’, to remove oneself from the thought of ‘what others are doing for me’, to give importance to the thought about ‘what am I doing for others’: this is self-introspection, this is self-realization. And after self-realization you think for others well-being and welfare and somewhere forget about yourself. But without looking at yourself, without finding yourself, you cannot forget yourself. Self-realization is the killing of your inner ego, it is an injury done to your ego. Destruction of ego i.e. destruction of ‘I can do this, I can know this’. To go beyond everything is self-realization. After self-realization your vision only remains on your own steps to see if you are going right or not. This thought such as ‘who is my friend’ gets erased; only this thought remains that ‘whose friend am I’. To go beyond the thought about‘what are others doing for me’, to give importance to the thought of ‘what am I doing for others’, is self-realization. To go beyond the thought of ‘I am something’, to remember only one thing that ‘I am zero’ – this is self-realization.

Chetan: Whole day my mind only stays in one thing, my love for worship. Is that the right state? I cannot focus on other things, throughout the day my mind only roots for worship.

Babaji: See, it is good to do worship, whenever you want to do. But there is one thing that I want to tell you. It is that in this life do not let anything become a habit. Because habit is that one thing which slowly becomes bigger than you. You have to be aware that habit is not driving you. In life any situation may come. This may happen that if you cannot do worship then you may feel bad. But that should not be the case. You should make yourself flexible. God is happy in everything that you do. We don’t know what exactly may make God happy. You keep your actions good, do worship, think good for others, and do duties that God has given you. See, look at the types of devotion. First comes the remembrance of God and worship which give you inner peace. This is very good. Secondly comes your family. To serve them, to work for them, to handle their responsibilities, that is also a type of worship. Then whatever you do in your daily activities that is also worship because whatever God has given you in front of your eyes, that is worship. And bring responsibilities as a form of worship in your life, begin searching for peace and joy from them. Because we cannot keep worshipping all the time else how will we go outside and do other works? So remember this thing that God is with you at every place, at every moment wherever you are. God is in the same situation as you. God is in the same way as you are. Believe God to be with you all the time and the more you free yourself the more you feel God with you.

So my love and blessings with everyone. See you next week.

Om Namah Shambhave.
