*“Kailash”*

Kailash is the abode of Lord Bholenath — the home of the compassionate Lord Shiva, from where He governs the entire universe! Bholenath, who is so merciful that He becomes pleased with His devotees in an instant and joyfully grants whatever they ask for. Kailash is His sacred residence!

And in this way, there are five divine Kailash mountains:

**Mansarovar Kailash, Adi Kailash, Manimahesh Kailash, Kinnaur Kailash,

and Shrikhand Kailash!!**

Each of these five Kailash peaks possesses its own unique glory, divine energy, and mysterious magnificence.

Among them, one Kailash — known as the “Bada Kailash” or “Mansarovar Kailash” — holds extraordinary spiritual significance.

I wish to share with you the divine greatness of Kailash Mansarovar and some of the sacred experiences associated with it. This is a humble attempt to express the bliss I received, and to share that joy with all of you!

Call it the center of the Earth

—or the source of the Earth’s cosmic energy—

the Kailash mountain holds within itself countless mysteries.

Kailash continuously draws in the positive energy emitted from the universe and then radiates it out to all four directions of the Earth. Thus, it is the source of our planet’s life-force.

*Mansarovar Lake* is believed to be the bathing place of gods and goddesses. Bathing in its waters purifies one of sins and destroys all negativities.

It is said that the sacred Ganga emerges from the feet of Lord Vishnu and descends upon the Kailash mountain, where Lord Shiva receives her in His matted locks. From there, the divine stream gently flows down to Earth — its first descent taking place at *Gomukh*.

Mansarovar and Kailash also hold deep spiritual and cultural significance in *Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon tradition*.

*Buddhism:*

In Buddhism, Kailash is called “Kang Rinpoche” — the Precious Jewel of Snow — and is considered the cosmic axis connecting heaven and earth.

*Jainism:*

According to Jain tradition, the first Tirthankara, *Rishabhanatha, attained liberation on this very mountain, known as **Ashtapada* — the Mountain of Eight Steps.

This journey is not merely a pilgrimage;

it is a journey of the soul — a path that leads beyond the material world,

offering the opportunity to connect directly with the Divine.

Our ancient sages attained freedom from the cycle of birth and death by performing parikrama (circumambulation) and receiving darshan here.

The divine Mansarovar Lake was first created in the mind of Lord Brahma; hence its name Mansarovar — “the Lake of the Mind”.

No matter how much one glorifies these sacred places, it will always feel insufficient!

And so, we continue forward on this journey…

*To be continued!!*
