| Durga Pooja, Oct 2018 |

Sairam. Sharad Navarathri is an especially auspicous event in the Shivanadam calendar.  Since 2006,  Babaji( Sri Shivananda) has single-handedly crafted Maa Durga statues, for every Durga Pooja.  He painstakingly carves, colors and decorates the statues himself with an attention to detail that is difficult to imagine.

This year, Babaji started the idol preparation activities from 05 September.

The Navarathri Poojas began from Sahshti (Day 6) and was celebrated in a traditional Bengali way with all the traditional rituals including havan,  aarti,  dhaak and the Dhunuchi dance performed by Babaji. The festival concluded with Visarjan (immersion of all the idols) on the final day in the local river Bhaner (Bener).

Venue: Shivanandam Nivas, Kangra
Dates: 17 to 19 October 2018
