Kailash Manasarovar Yatra – Babaji’s talk on 25.06.2019

In connection with this Yatra, I have a small message for all of you. I shall begin with a story. We have all heard of the great king Alexander the Great. Once, as he was casually passing by a village, he came across a Yogi seated there, holding a shiny, glittering object in his hand. The Yogi upon seeing Sikander tried to hide that glittering object from the king. Noticing this, the king asked the Yogi, why are you trying to hide from me that object which I have noticed already? What is that object?“, he asked of the Yogi. The Yogi replied, this object is a very precious and invaluable one. In fact, it is so very precious that all your wealth put together cannot match its value. The king replied, Okay, let us see what it is and if it really is as precious as you claim it to be. The Yogi went to add, this object is also a very heavy one! As a matter of fact, it is so heavy that the combined weight of all your wealth cannot match this object’s weight!

The King looked on disbelievingly waiting to verify the claims of the sage. Weighing scale was called for with a huge plate on one side to accommodate all the wealth of the king and a small plate the other side to hold the Sadhu’s shiny object. As soon as the shiny object was placed on the smaller scale, the large plate with the king’s wealth went straight up to the king’s astonishment, the king immediately asked, what sort of an object is this? Why don’t you at least tell me about it? The Yogi replied, I cannot tell you what it is. It is a Maya which cannot be revealed to you. The king again asked, tell me what sort of a Maya can this be? The Yogi did not yield but instead directed him (the king), to bring some dust off the path nearby. Once the dust was brought, it was dropped over the shiny object in the small plate. Immediately, the plate holding the king’s wealth became heavier and came zooming down. The king was even more astonished upon seeing this and asked, how can this be? What sort of a magical illusion is this? The Sadhu Baba nodded his head and said, now, I will tell you what all this is. Earlier you were wondering as to how a small object could be heavier than all your wealth put together. Now you are baffled that mere dust from a nearby road when added to the plate carrying the shiny object has rendered that very same object lighter than all your wealth put together! Let me explain, continued the Yogi. The shiny object is nothing but our vision and, as long as our vision is not covered by dust it is the most invaluable thing in the world, far more precious than any amount of our wealth. The moment our vision is clouded or covered by the dust of illusion, it loses its value and thus, even our worldly wealth becomes heavier than our deluded vision.

Babaji says, “At the end of the yatra, this is my message to all of you which you should always carry with you. Always remember that the moment your vision gets covered with the dust of differences, sentience of opposites, jealousy, ego or any other such negative quality, you will not be worth even a couple of coins/pennies. On the contrary, the day you drop or give up this curtain of dust comprising of your ego, jealousy and/or any other such negative attributes, you will become invaluable and more precious than all the riches of this world. Until such time that this illusory dust of ego, desires, jealousy and sentience covered my eyes, I too did not have any value. When I paused and thought, what my life after all is, how limited it is, how long it is going to be, how much I can amass or earn, how much of name and fame and riches I need to go after for living this life and having done all that, what thereafter? What great achievement is it that I amass so much of wealth, riches, name and fame? Thus the day I thought about it and realized the futility of chasing my endless desires, when I understood the futility of amassing wealth, name & fame; when I put my life into perspective within this entire creation and the world at large; when I replaced the veil of jealousy and ego with Prema/Love, my worth & value arose and therefore, today, you are bound to me and I am bound to you and we are together here. This togetherness and bonding is not just for today.”

It is important to know and realize that this illusory dust is not something acquired from the wayside or thrown upon us by someone or society. It is a dust that we are generating from within our minds and it has to be removed from there. When we pause to think that while we all have come together on this trip, perhaps, we may not get to see or meet each other again. Will not this thought or prospect of separation give rise to feelings of empathy, love and kindness for each other? So, are we born merely to feed our jealousy and/or ego? The Lord says, “Love All”, whereas we are jealous of each other! The Lord says, “Serve All”, whereas we engage in politics instead! The Lord says live with Unity but, we consider each other as separate from each other and create divisions instead. So, in reality, we are not even following what the Lord says! Why then are we even standing in His presence when we do not even wish to follow what He says?”

You do what you wish to do but only that happens, which I wish/will/should happen. Instead, why don’t you do as I wish? For then, whatever you wish for shall certainly happen!

The vision and thinking of a human being is actually the vision and thinking of the Lord Himself. A human being is after all made in the image of God Himself. Let it become so and let it remain so. Do not allow the dust to arise from within to cloud your vision / thinking. If you allow the dust to cloud your vision and thinking, how will you go about loving others. Whom will you love with a clouded vision? Why do you desire for love or ask for love? You desire love because you do not find it within you and hence you seek it outside. If you have love within, you would not crave for it from without. You would share it instead; you would give it to others. Is it something that you should ask for? Why do worldly relationships crumble or dissolve? Everybody is seeking love from the other. A wife seeks love from her husband and vice versa, a brother seeks love from a brother, a sister seeks love from a sister or brother and vice versa. Why seek or ask for love elsewhere, always? This is essentially akin to begging and you become like a beggar!

Only that which one does not possess is sought after and that which one possesses is given away. Is love something that you should ask for? Are relationships meant to be made or acquired? Do not ask; instead, learn to give. Learn not to covet or acquire. Learn to give because everything is present within you. Ask only for that which you your self are capable of giving.

For how long will you nurture ego and anger within? For how many days will you store the jealousy within? For how long will you hold dear the callousness, feelings & false impressions within? How many days will you hold on to the hatred within? When the end comes, then what? When you will be asked to account for every single moment and day, then what? Will you submit your jealousy, hatred, anger, ego and callousness in return? How much will you fill into your basket and what will you fill it with to offer to the Lord at the end? You come with an empty basket. You have some many items and possessions around you which you can dump into the empty basket, but, fill in only that which can go along with you and can be offered to the Lord. Do not dump into it items which will overload your basket and disintegrate it even before your reach your destination, for then, you will be left without anything to offer to Him and/or receive from Him in return!

If you wish to achieve something, achieve yourself! If you wish to live something, then live yourself! If you want to understand anything, understand yourself! If you wish to do something, do it yourself & for yourself. Jealousy is a matter of pain and sadness. Jealousy is the cause for sorrow. What do you know about happiness? Who has ever known happiness? You consider or define the outer limit / extreme of sadness to be sorrow, while you perceive starting point of sadness or the inner boundary of sadness as happiness or joy. If you truly wish to understand what happiness is, experience what is happiness then remove the dust from your eyes. Do not allow it to cover or cloud your vision. The day this dust settles upon your vision, take it from me that you will be rendered worthless! The day you allow these negative qualities to get the better of you, know that you shall distance yourself from the Lord, know that He shall withdraw His protective shadow from upon you. Remember that the one who belongs to the Lord, the one upon whom His grace and compassion is present, he shall not be plagued by jealousy or callousness, anger or ego or any other differences. Such a one will exclude only all “Chetana” or consciousness, which embraces everything and everyone. On that day, when you seat such a person on one side of the weighing scale and place all riches & wealth of the world on the other scale, He will outweigh everything and everyone. In connection with this Yatra, there is just one key message that I wish to convey to all of you and that is: make yourself worthy, grow and understand your self worth, build upon it and make yourself, make and mold your own image and understand yourself. Once you reach yourself, there you will find Lord Himself! If I were to ask you your name you will immediately respond with your name. If I were to ask you what is your identity or your introduction, what would you say? The name also is of this world after all and not your inner identity. This life is small, life’s journey is a short one and life’s play too is small. Therefore, rise above your pettiness and all differences. Rise above callousness and all other objects of a material nature. Become large in stature and cultivate high thinking. Nurture such high thinking which will help all those associated with you also to rise. Do not nurture any lowly & narrow kind of thinking which will bring down even those above you or lead those associated with you astray. Do not engage in any such actions which will prevent you from facing the Lord or even yourself. Never allow the mound of dust within you to rise and cloud your vision. Live a life full of humanity and die in oneness with the Lord such that you are remembered by the world for your high thinking and good actions/work. Do not ever develop the ego of superiority of your work or actions or thoughts. If someone tells you that he knows everything about you, he is a fool. If you go to a Pandit who dictates that by doing this you will achieve this and by doing that you will conquer that, he is no less than a fool. If only life could be determined by what is claimed to be written before hand, what would become of our Karma/actions? Only karma knows or understands Karma. No one can know all about you but for the indweller within you who is no other than “Paramatma” Himself. Nobody else can know this, for it is just not possible. How is it possible for anyone else to know?

Jnana or knowledge means ignorance of the Atma. Whatever you know or come to know is of this world. Whatever someone else claims to know and imparts is something they have in turn acquired or obtained from another and are just passing it on. What is there to know from this? You may hear Ka or Kha or Gha from many but is there any unique word or sound that you have heard from within?

I wish that I be with you and you also be with me. I desire that with the help of my words and advice, you too acquire a certain value self worth. I am giving my time and speaking to you so that you build upon your value and self worth. You too have a value in this creation and your own worth in the world. You too have a name and work to be done in this world. I am here to remind you of that work you have to do. I am there with you only to make you realize this truth. Through my words, I do not use or express any such matters / topics which you cannot understand. My talks are simple, easy and understandable. Do not let my talks go in vain. Do not mistake my words to be empty or in vain. In the time to come, these words of mine shall become a path for the coming times and generations, to follow and use. You too can understand and apply these in your daily lives. You can also be in bliss and be happy by following these words and teachings.

The castes and divisions brought about in the name of a religious order, the restrictions put in place in the name of a religious order/diktat, all these huge monuments established in the name of a religious order and all these very high sounding complex ideologies or doctrines propounded in the name of a religious order or Dharma; you please lead a life that is distant and away from all these, where Dharma is simplified to its real essence and can be easily understood by one and all.

My Upadesh or teaching from this yatra is just this: the number of days we all spent together, the number of days we all spent in chanting and singing the name of the Lord, the number of days we all spent together experiencing joy and happiness, the number of days we all spent discussing so many topics and talking to each other, the amount of time we all spent together and the number of talks I gave over these 10 or 20 days; if you can choose any one particular teaching of mine which you liked the most, not from each and every one of these 10 or 20 days that we spent together but from just any one particular day and, if you were to imbibe & follow that particular teaching of your liking, then you will be able to accomplish and experience something. You will not be able to experience anything from what Guru Nanak or Mahaveer or the Buddha imbibed or practiced, but you will definitely accomplish & experience something if you yourself imbibe a teaching and follow it very sincerely. You will also have to understand the teaching and know it for yourself. And, particularly where you have access to such an easy and understanding Guru, you must hold on to him and not let go, for it is not often that you can gain the proximity of such an easily accessible Guru. Therefore, remember not to let the dust from within cloud your eyes and vision.
