*“Kailash”*


Bholenath, the divine resident of Kailash, is so compassionate that in joy He gives away everything without restraint. But if that same Lord Bholenath becomes angry, He brings about destruction. His Tandava fills the entire world with fear. That is why it is said: those who are calm—when anger rises in them, it is terrible indeed.


So far, we have read how Ravana lifted Mount Kailash, and how Mother Parvati was frightened by his act. Let us now read what happens next.


The moment Mount Kailash was lifted, Parvati said, “O Bholenath, now only You can stop Ravana.” Lord Shiva knew exactly how to stop him. He also knew how to shatter Ravana’s arrogance. Therefore, with just the toe of His foot, He pressed down Mount Kailash. Because of the Lord’s toe, Kailash was pushed back into its place, and as a result, both of Ravana’s hands were crushed beneath it. With his hands trapped, Ravana writhed in agony. The pain was so intense that Dashanan let out a terrifying scream. His cry was so loud that it felt as though the end of the world was about to arrive.


Lord Shiva only wished to remove his pride. Ravana’s screams echoed throughout the entire Kailash Himalaya. All the gods and goddesses were astonished to see his condition. Yet Ravana was such a great devotee of Shiva that he began thinking of how to appease the Lord. Ravana was not so weak that he would be defeated by this divine play. He knew that this too was the Lord’s leela. His devotion was immense.

El Señor Shiva, residente de Kailash, es tan bondadoso que daría cualquier cosa con tal de hacerte feliz. Pero si se enoja, ¡desata la destrucción! Su Tandava (poder divino) aterroriza al mundo entero. Por eso se dice que cuando quien está tranquilo se enoja, ¡se vuelve muy malvado! Ya leímos cómo Ravana levantó el Monte Kailash, y la Madre Parvati quedó horrorizada por su acción. ¡Sigamos leyendo!

Mientras levantaba el Monte Kailash, Parvati dijo: "Oh, Señor Shiva, ahora detén a Ravana". El Señor Shiva sabía cómo detenerlo. Sabía como destrozar el ego de Ravana, así que simplemente empujó el Kailash con el dedo del pie. El dedo del Señor hizo que Kailash volviera a su lugar, y debido a eso, las dos manos de Ravana quedaron aplastadas bajo Kailash. ¡Ravana se retorció de dolor al tener sus manos aplastadas! El inmenso dolor hizo que Ravana gritara terriblemente. ¡Sus gritos eran tan fuertes que parecía que el fin del mundo estaba a punto de llegar!

El Señor Shiva solo quería deshacerse de su orgullo. Todo el Kailash del Himalaya resonó con los gritos de Ravana; todos los dioses y diosas se sorprendieron al ver su condición. ¡Pero Ravana era un gran devoto de Shiva y pensó cómo convencer al Señor! Ravana no era tan débil como para ser derrotado  por este juego/lila Divino, obra  del Señor. ¡Su devoción era enorme! ¡Continuará! ¡Jai Vishwa! ¡Jai Bhole Baba!
