*“Kailash”*

No matter how much one glorifies the greatness of Kailash, it is never enough. The joy of this pilgrimage story can certainly be enjoyed by reading it, but its true experience can only be felt by going to Kailash oneself! Kailash—the home of Lord Shiva—where He sits and governs the entire universe. That supreme power who constantly reminds us of the cycle of birth and death!

Come, let us continue listening to the story of Ravana’s penance!

At this point, Narad Muni went before Ravana and said, “O King of Lanka, your happiness reveals that you have received some desired boon!”

In pride, Ravana replied, “Yes, Devarshi, I am extremely pleased! For I have been granted immeasurable strength by Lord Shiva Himself!”

Hearing this, Narad Muni cleverly confused Ravana’s mind and said, “O King of Demons, despite being so intelligent, you believed the words of a God who is always intoxicated after consuming bhang! And you accepted His boon as truth?

If you truly received such a boon, then why don’t you try lifting Mount Kailash itself!”

Ravana, delighted, said, “This is indeed a good way to test the truth of the boon!”

Filled with arrogance, Ravana then came to Kailash–Manasarovar to test the power of the boon. He moved toward Mount Kailash with the thought of lifting it and carrying it to Lanka. Stretching out his hands, he placed his enormous arms beneath Kailash and began to lift it.

Because of the strength granted by Lord Shiva, the mountain began to shake.

Seeing this, Goddess Parvati became frightened. The entire Kailash trembled under the force of Ravana. Even the other deities residing there were terrified, for they knew this was not Ravana’s strength, but the power of Mahadev’s boon. Everyone knew that Lord Shiva is Bholenath—innocent and easily pleased—and when He becomes pleased, He gives away everything.

Goddess Parvati said to Mahadev, “O Lord, what kind of play is this? Ravana has come to lift Kailash using the very power given by You. He is misusing this strength. I will not go to Lanka! Now You alone must stop this arrogant one! Only You can make him realize his mistake, Mahadev…!!”

**To be continued…!!

Glory to Lord Bholenath.
