| Char Dham Yatra – towards Badrinath, Day 54 |

Bhavishya Badri

Bhavishya Badri is a very famous & ancient temple of Hindus. The temple is located in a village called Subhai, at a distance of 17 kms from Joshimath, in Uttarakhand. The temple stands in the midst of thick forests. The journey to this temple can be covered only by trekking up to it. It is located on the banks of the Dhauli Ganga river, along a very ancient pilgrimage route that leads to Kailash Manasarovar.

Bhavishya Badri temple is the 5th Badri after Badrinath, Yogdhyan Badri, Adi Badri and Vriddh Badri, being one amongst the Sapta (7) Badri group of temples. Adi Guru Shankaracharya had built this temple. Adi Shankaracharya is credited with having built many temples in Uttarakhand region. The objective of having all these temples established through Adi Shankaracharya was to propagate & spread Hindu Dharma, to every far flung corner of the country.

There is a rock close to the temple upon which One can see the half outline or figure of the Lord, when one examines it closely & minutely. Lord Badri Vishal is seated on the rock here in the form of a Saligram idol.

It is said that when the route to Badrinath Dham gets blocked and becomes inaccessible at the end of Kali Yuga due to the joining together or merging together of the Nara and Narayana mountains, Lord Badrinath will grant Darshan here at the Bhavishya Badri temple. He will be offered worship and prayers here instead of in the main Badrinath temple of today.

The Lord will grant Darshan here, in times to come. Hail Lord Badrinath!
