"Kailash"

Pleased with Ravana, Lord Bholenath opened His eyes and forgave Ravana for all his mistakes, accepting him as His supreme devotee. Ravana too, forgetting his pain, compelled the Lord to open His eyes through the power of his devotion.

Lord Bholenath showered Ravana with His grace. First, He forgave him for his mistakes, then addressed him by the name "Ravaneshwar. “He bestowed upon him the Chandrahas sword, and to take along with him, He Himself gave the Atmalinga. But among all these blessings, the greatest was the Chandrahās sword. It was a very special sword. Let us understand what made it so special—this sword that the Lord Himself gave to His supreme devotee. Later, we will learn about the Atmalinga. For now, let us know about the Chandrahas sword.

“Chandrahas Sword”

The Chandrahas sword is an extremely powerful and Sacred weapon. Its name is formed from two words: Chandra + Hās.

Chandra means the moon, and Hās means a smile.

Thus, it is a sword whose edge is believed to be as radiant and sharp as the smile of the moon.

This sword was given by Lord Shiva as a Boon to Ravana, the king of Lanka. It was crafted by Vishwakarma himself. It was invisible and infused with divine power. The one who wielded it could never be defeated in battle. This sword symbolized not only physical strength but also divine energy; it was a symbol of devotion to Shiva. It shows that true devotion pleases even God. And when He is pleased, what He can bestow is beyond human imagination.

This represents the balance between righteousness and unrighteousness. Even a learned and devoted person like Ravana, when drowned in ego, could ultimately be destroyed by that very power. When divine power becomes associated with ego and unrighteousness, destruction is inevitable. This sword became a symbol of Lanka’s might and Ravana’s valor.

“What the Chandrahās Sword Teaches”

Power + Wisdom = Welfare

Power + Ego = Destruction

While granting this sword, the Lord also warned Ravana accordingly.

Victory to the universe! Glory to Bhole Baba!
