The Route on Foot
Having had Darshan of Gaurikund; sipping on hot tea and tucking in a good breakfast this morning, we draw in a deep breath as we set off, to the chants of Har Har emanating from the Mandakini’s gurgling waters, infusing us with a fresh dose of energy! Looking at the roads, one feels that this distance should somehow be covered and the union with Lord Mahadev happens. Some have chosen horseback, some a palanquin, some have decided to weather it out on foot, while few others have taken the aerial route on a helicopter. Our steps move forward with spirited invocations of the Jaykar of Bhole Baba and the singing of Om Namah Shivaya. Bhole Nath’s Love pulls us ahead with full vigour and fervor. The arduous climb and the burble of the river alongside move ahead as though in tandem. At some points, the horses move to the edge of the road, yielding space for the mules to go past and then they amble along, staring at the beauty of nature on either side. There are tents on the wayside where one can take a break and rest for a while, when tired. Shouts of Jaykar of Bhole Nath by devotees resonate all along the route. The vigour and enthusiasm one draws from these joyous & spirited shouts of Jaykar, helps overcome the fatigue of the arduous journey. The ambience and atmosphere is rendered divine & heavenly with the resonating shouts & chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ or ‘Har Har Mahadev’ in the backdrop of the scenic mountains all around. Where; whether it is from the burble of the river water or the hooves of the horses and mules, from the serenity of nature or the Himalayan glaciers, only one name is heard resonating in every corner – Har Har Mahadev, Har Har Mahadev!

पैदल मार्ग

गौरीकुण्ड दर्शन पाने के बाद,चाय नाश्ता करने के बाद लम्बी सांस भरकर मंदाकिनी नदी की हर हर करती आवाज ने सब में एक नई ऊर्जा भर दी।रास्तों को देख ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि ये रास्ता कट जाये और महादेव से मिलन हो।किसी ने घोड़ा किसी ने पालकी तो किसी ने पैदल मार्ग चुन लिया,तो कुछ हैलीकाप्टर से निकल चले। भोलेबाबा की जयकार के साथ ऊँ नमः शिवाय गाते हुए।कदम आगे बढ़ने लगे।पूरे जोश के साथ भोलेनाथ का प्रेम अपनी ओर खींचने लगा।कठिन चढ़ाई और नदी के स्वर साथ आगे बढ़ने लगे।कही कही घोड़े खच्चर को रास्ता देने के लिए किनारे पर खड़े होकर प्रकृति के सौदर्य को निहारते निहारते आगे बढ़ रहे थे।रास्ते मे थकान होती है तो आराम करने के लिए टैंट मे बैठ सकते हैं।पूरे रास्ते मे भक्त भोले नाथ की जयकार गुजंती रहती हैै। जय जय कार से जो जोश आता हैै।वो रास्ते मे होने वाली थकान को दूर करते हैं।पहाड़ो के सुदंर नजारे और साथ साथ मे बम बम भोले,हर हर महादेव के जयकार उस माहौल को स्वर्ग बना देते हैं।जहाँ कोने कोने बस एक ही नाम,चाहे नदी का स्वर हो,या घोड़े खच्चरों की चलने आवाज,प्रकृति की शांति हो या हिमालय के ग्लेशियर हो।वहाँ बस एक ही नाद गुंजता है।हर हर महादेव,हर हर महादेव,हर हर महादेव।

Camino a pie

Habiendo tenido el darshan de Gaurikund, sorbiendo té caliente y tomando un buen desayuno esta mañana, respiramos profundamente mientras nos ponemos en marcha e iniciamos los cantos de Har Har, que emanan de las gorgoteantes aguas del Río Mandakini, infundiéndonos una nueva dosis de energía. Al mirar los caminos, uno siente que esta distancia debería ser lograda de alguna manera y se produce la unión con el Señor Mahadev. Algunos han elegido ir a caballo, otros en palanquín, algunos han decidido sobrellevarlo a pie, mientras que otros han tomado la ruta aérea en helicóptero. Nuestros pasos avanzan con invocaciones enérgicas del Jay de Bhole Baba y el canto de Om Namá Shivaia. El amor de Bhole Nat nos lleva hacia adelante con pleno vigor y fervor. La ardua subida y el borboteo del río junto avanzan como en tándem. En algunos puntos, los caballos se mueven al borde del camino, dejando espacio para que las mulas pasen y luego deambulan, mirando la belleza de la naturaleza a ambos lados. Hay tiendas de campaña en el camino donde uno puede tomar una pausa y descansar por un tiempo, cuando uno está cansado. Los gritos de Jay de Bhole Nat por parte de los devotos resuenan a lo largo de la ruta. El vigor y el entusiasmo que uno extrae de estos gritos alegres y enérgicos de Jay ayudan a superar la fatiga del arduo viaje. El ambiente y la atmósfera se vuelven divinos y celestiales con los gritos y cantos resonantes de Bam Bam Bhole o Har Har Mahadev en el fondo de las montañas escénicas a su alrededor. Sea donde sea, por el agua del río o por las herraduras de los caballos y las mulas, por la serenidad de la naturaleza o los glaciares del Himalaya, sólo se escucha un nombre en cada esquina: ¡Har Har Mahadev, Har Har Mahadev!

Después de la devastación de 2013, muchas cosas han cambiado aquí. Toda la ruta ha adquirido una apariencia muy diferente. Los signos reveladores de ese diluvio son visibles incluso hoy. Ni siquiera hay una mota o señal de ese lugar llamado Ramabada, que desapareció por completo. Anteriormente, el pueblo de Ramabada era el punto central de esta ruta de esta peregrinación y la gente solía tomar un descanso aquí para tomar té y aperitivos, antes de continuar. Todo fue arrastrado por el diluvio.

Today is the day when we will know the history of this liberating abode Kedarnath. The sacred sound of the mantras reverberating at 4 in the morning from the temple precincts and the freezing cold seeping in from the Himalayas. Wherever you turn, you see only snow and the lofty Himalayan peaks all around. The temple flag waving on top and the perceptible whisper of Om Namah Shivaya in the atmosphere all around. Everyone is up and ready despite the freezing cold of the early morning hours. Everybody wants to meet Bhole Nath; where is the trace of any sleep in the eyes when only the Jaikar of Bhole Nath echoes in the valleys around and, where every grain, particle and stone says Har Har Mahadev. That sacred earth of Kedarnath; what sleep, what fatigue & what hunger?

छतीसवाँ दिन—केदारनाथ दर्शन

आज वो दिन था,जब हम मोक्षधाम केदारनाथ के इतिहास को जानेगें।सुबह 4बजे मंदिर से आती मंत्र पूजा के स्वर और हिमालय से आती जमा देने वाली ठण्ड,जहाँ भी नजर दौड़ाओ,बस बर्फ ही बर्फ,हिमालय की ऊंची चोटियाँ।मंदिर के ऊपर लहराता झण्डा,ऊँ नमः शिवाय करता वहाँ का माहौल।सुबह की जमा देने वाली ठण्ड मे ही सब तैयार हो गये।हर कोई भोलेनाथ से मिलना चाहता,आखों में नींद ही कहाँ,जिन वादियों मे केवल भोलेनाथ की जयकार हो,जहाँ का कण-कण एक एक पत्थर जहाँ हर हर महादेव बोलता हो।वहाँ की पावन भूमि क्या नींद ,क्या थकान, क्या भूख।

Hoy es el día en que conoceremos la historia de esta morada liberadora de Kedarnat. El sonido sagrado de los mantras reverberaba a las 4 de la mañana desde los recintos del templo y el frío helado que se filtraba desde el Himalaya. Dondequiera que giréis, veréis sólo nieve y los altos picos del Himalaya a su alrededor. La bandera del templo ondeando en la parte superior y el perceptible susurro de Om Namá Shivaia en la atmósfera a su alrededor. Todos están levantados y listos pese el frío de las primeras horas de la mañana. Todos quieren conocer a Bhole Nat, donde está el rastro de cualquier sueño en los ojos cuando sólo el Yai de Bhole Nat resuena en los valles alrededor y, donde cada grano, partícula y piedra dice Har Har Mahadev. Esa tierra sagrada de Kedarnat; ¿qué sueño, qué fatiga y qué hambre?

Kedarnath Temple

This temple is built on a raised, 6 feet high square platform. Inside the temple is a perambulation pathway on all four sides of the main temple pavilion and Sanctum Sanctorum. Nandi – the bull, sits in the courtyard outside, in the form of the Divine carrier or vehicle. Kind Nandi looks so beautiful and regal, sitting in that courtyard looking to His Master, Mahadev all the time, eternally immersed in devotion and service to Him.

केदारनाथ मंदिर

यह मन्दिर एक छह फीट ऊँचे चौकोर चबूतरे पर बना हुआ है। मन्दिर में मुख्य भाग मण्डप और गर्भगृह के चारों ओर प्रदक्षिणा पथ है। बाहर प्रांगण में नन्दी बैल वाहन के रूप में विराजमान हैं। नदी महाराज उस प्रांगण मे बैठे बहुत सुंदर दिखते है,हर समय महादेव की ओर मुख किये,हर समय उनकी सेवा और भक्ति मे लीन रहते हैं।

प्रात:काल में शिवलिंग को प्राकृतिक रूप से स्नान कराकर उस पर घी-लेपन किया जाता है। तत्पश्चात धूप-दीप जलाकर आरती उतारी जाती है। इस समय यात्री-गण मंदिर में प्रवेश कर पूजन कर सकते हैं, लेकिन संध्या के समय भगवान का श्रृंगार किया जाता है। उन्हें विविध प्रकार के चित्ताकर्षक ढंग से सजाया जाता है। भक्तगण दूर से केवल इसका दर्शन ही कर सकते हैं।

Templo de Kedarnat

Este templo está construido sobre una plataforma cuadrada elevada de 2 metros de altura. Dentro del templo hay una vía de deambulación en los cuatro lados del pabellón principal del templo y del Sanctasanctórum. Nandi (el toro) se sienta en el patio exterior, en forma de vehículo o carreta divina. El amable Nandi se ve tan hermoso y regio, sentado en ese patio mirando a Su Maestro, Mahadev, todo el tiempo, eternamente inmerso en la devoción y el servicio a Él.

The world renowned Kedarnath temple built in the Katyuri style of architecture (promoted by the kings of Katyur dynasty), sits at the foot of the Kedarnath peak high in the Himalayan mountains, near the river Mandakini that emerges from the reservoir of the Chaurabari glacier. This temple is an extraordinarily attractive example of the art of Vaastu (space arrangement, layout and spatial geometry). A pointed spicular rock is worshipped as the Sadashiva form of Lord Shiva, in the Sanctum Sanctorum. The doors of Kedarnath temple opens 15 days before Mesha Sankranti (an important day for Hindus, considered a new year day according to the solar calendar, when the Sun enters the zodiac sign Aries) and closer to Agahan Sankaranti, on the night of Balraj after having offered prayers 4 times at intervals of 3 hours, at 4 am the following day which is celebrated as Bhaiya Duj (ceremony between sister and brother), Shri Kedar is anointed with ghee, decorated with lotus flowers, clothing etc., and taken down to another village for the winter solstice. After this ceremony, the temple doors remain closed until the next summer solstice.

केदारनाथ मंदिर

चौरीबारी ग्लेशियर के कुंड से निकलती मंदाकिनी नदी के समीप, केदारनाथ पर्वत शिखर के पाद में, कत्यूरी शैली द्वारा निर्मित, विश्व प्रसिद्ध केदारनाथ मंदिर हिमालय की ऊँचाई पर अवस्थित है। यह मंदिर वास्तुकला का अद्भुत व आकर्षक नमूना है। मंदिर के गर्भ गृह में नुकीली चट्टान भगवान शिव के सदाशिव रूप में पूजी जाती है। केदारनाथ मंदिर के कपाट मेष संक्रांति से पंद्रह दिन पूर्व खुलते हैं और अगहन संक्रांति के निकट बलराज की रात्रि चारों पहर की पूजा और भइया दूज के दिन, प्रातः चार बजे, श्री केदार को घृत कमल व वस्त्रादि की समाधि के साथ ही, कपाट बंद हो जाते हैं। केदारनाथ के निकट ही गांधी सरोवर व वासुकीताल हैं।मंदिर मंदाकिनी के घाट पर बना हुआ हैं ।मंदिर के भीतर अन्धकार रहता है और दीपक के सहारे ही शंकर जी के दर्शन होते हैं। शिवलिंग स्वयंभू है। सम्मुख की ओर यात्री जल-पुष्पादि चढ़ाते हैं और दूसरी ओर भगवान को घृत अर्पित कर बाँह भरकर मिलते हैं, मूर्ति चार हाथ लम्बी और डेढ़ हाथ मोटी है। मंदिर में द्रौपदी सहित पाँच पाण्डवों की विशाल मूर्तियाँ हैं। मंदिर के पीछे कई कुण्ड हैं, जिनमें आचमन तथा तर्पण किया जा सकता है।

El mundialmente famoso templo Kedarnat construido en el estilo de arquitectura Katiuri (promovido por los reyes de la dinastía Katiur), se encuentra al pie del pico Kedarnat en lo alto de las montañas del Himalaya, cerca del Río Mandakini que emerge del embalse del glaciar Chaurabari. Este templo es un ejemplo extraordinariamente atractivo del arte de Vastu Shastra (disposición espacial, diseño y geometría espacial). Una roca especular puntiaguda es adorada como la forma Sadashivá del Señor Shivá, en el Sanctasanctórum. Las puertas del templo de Kedarnat abren 15 días antes de Mesha Sankranti (un día importante para los hindúes, considerado un día de año nuevo según el calendario solar, cuando el sol ingresa al signo zodiacal Aries) y más cerca de Agahan Sankaranti, en la noche de Balraj después de haber ofrecido oraciones 4 veces a intervalos de 3 horas, a las 4 de la mañana del día siguiente, que se celebra como Bhaiya Duj (ceremonia entre hermana y hermano), Sri Kedar es ungido con mantequilla clarificada, decorado con flores de loto, ropa, etc., y llevado a otra aldea para el solsticio de invierno. Después de esta ceremonia, las puertas del templo permanecen cerradas hasta el próximo solsticio de verano.
