*“Kailash”*

Bholenath, the divine resident of Kailash, is so compassionate that in joy He gives away everything without restraint. But if that same Lord Bholenath becomes angry, He brings about destruction. His Tandava fills the entire world with fear. That is why it is said: those who are calm—when anger rises in them, it is terrible indeed.

So far, we have read how Ravana lifted Mount Kailash, and how Mother Parvati was frightened by his act. Let us now read what happens next.

*“Kailash”*

No matter how much one glorifies the greatness of Kailash, it is never enough. The joy of this pilgrimage story can certainly be enjoyed by reading it, but its true experience can only be felt by going to Kailash oneself! Kailash—the home of Lord Shiva—where He sits and governs the entire universe. That supreme power who constantly reminds us of the cycle of birth and death!
Come, let us continue listening to the story of Ravana’s penance!

At this point, Narad Muni went before Ravana and said, “O King of Lanka, your happiness reveals that you have received some desired boon!”
In pride, Ravana replied, “Yes, Devarshi, I am extremely pleased! For I have been granted immeasurable strength by Lord Shiva Himself!”
Hearing this, Narad Muni cleverly confused Ravana’s mind and said, “O King of Demons, despite being so intelligent, you believed the words of a God who is always intoxicated after consuming bhang! And you accepted His boon as truth?
If you truly received such a boon, then why don’t you try lifting Mount Kailash itself!”

*“Kailash”*

The journey to Kailash is not just a journey — it is an opportunity to connect with your inner self. You do not go to behold Kailash; you go to behold your own soul. A place where every word dissolves into silence… where every prayer is heard… where Lord Bholenath, seated in deep stillness, fulfills every heartfelt wish of His children. Such is the beauty of the Kailash Yatra!
Now, let us continue the beautiful story of Ravan’s penance.

*“Kailash”*

After learning about both lakes of Kailash, now we will understand what connection exists between Rakshas Tal and Ravana’s penance! What mysteries of Kailash Mountain are linked to this? This is a very beautiful story — a symbol of Lord Bholenath’s compassion and love. It shows how, when He becomes angry, He can destroy anything, but when He is pleased, He gives away even Himself completely. That is why He is lovingly called Bhole Baba!
So let us now learn about this divine play of Lord Shiva.

This is the story of Ravana, the supreme devotee of Lord Shiva.
