“Kailash”

Who knows how many unresolved mysteries lie hidden within this Kailash! This is not an ordinary Himalayan mountain, but a mysterious one. It is a source of energy from which positive energy continuously flows. This mountain, which grants liberation from sins, captivates every heart. Come, let us now read further—this story from the life of Milarepa.

Milarepa’s story shows that if a person truly realizes their mistakes, correcting them is not impossible. Such is the power of a guru’s guidance—it can show a person the path beyond every sin. A guru may test you in many ways, and if you truly wish to learn and attain something, you must be prepared for every test. And in life, someone always comes to show you the way. Milarepa’s story is filled with wisdom and answers to many questions. We are not reading it merely because he climbed Mount Kailash; rather, we must understand his life, his words about Kailash, and the lessons he learned from it. So let us move forward.

“Kailash”

Kailash is revered in many religions. We have already read about some of the beliefs of Buddhism; now let us learn about those who, through the strength of their spiritual power, conquered Kailash—those who were able to reach there by their own inner power. These experiences are extremely thrilling and present a beautiful expression of strength and faith. Just as Ravana once lifted Kailash, there is another example of devotion and faith in Buddhism: the great guru Milarepa. Let us come to know—who was Milarepa?

“Kailash”

Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva, where we are reading about the glory of Lord Bholenath. At the same time, Kailash is equally powerful in other religions as well. Because it is located in Tibet, Kailash is a great and sacred mountain in Buddhism too. Now I will tell you a few things about Kailash as related to Buddhism. We all know that this is the mountain that, to this day, only the great Buddhist yogi Milarepa was able to climb—through his tantric and spiritual powers. Along with this, let us read about the importance of Kailash in Buddhism.

In Buddhism, Mount Kailash (Kang Rinpoche) is believed to be the abode of Buddha Demchok (Chakrasamvara). This belief is deeply connected with profound tantric and spiritual significance.

Let us understand the meaning of “Demchok”:

Dem = Supreme

Chok = Bliss

“Kailash”

While giving the lingam at Kailash, Lord Shiva said to Ravana that if the Atma-Lingam was placed on the ground, it would remain there forever and could never be lifted again. This was all a manifestation of the Lord’s divine play (leela). God performed this leela through the ages only to give joy to His devotees. Come, let us read further.

“Atma-Lingam”

When Ravana reaches Gokarna, Lord Ganesha enacts His leela by appearing in the form of a young boy, pretending to graze cows. At that very moment, Lord Narayan, Shri Hari, covers the Sun God with His Sudarshan Chakra. Ravana believes that sunset has occurred and that it is time for the evening prayers. His eyes then fall upon the boy standing there—who was none other than Lord Ganesha himself.

Kailash”

Kailash is the place on earth where only divine grace flows from God. Whoever reaches this sacred land is forgiven by God even for their worst deeds. Upon reaching there, a person is freed from sinful actions and becomes worthy of God’s blessings. To go to Kailash is to behold God Himself. Kailash is a Himalayan mountain, yet the divine power that resides within the Himalayas can be truly experienced only when one reaches there personally. The bliss felt upon arriving there cannot be expressed in words.

When God was pleased with Ravana, He granted him the Atma-Lingam as a boon. Lord Shiva Himself, in the form of his own divine power, gave the Atma-Lingam to Ravana and imparted this wisdom—that when God is pleased with His devotee, He Himself walks alongside them. The only test for the devotee is to carefully preserve and uphold that divine grace.
